Full course description

This course is intended for practicing junior and senior high school mathematics teachers. It seeks to enhance their   technological, pedagogical and content knowledge (TPACK) for developing curriculum resource materials for teaching in the five learning domains in the K to 12 secondary mathematics curriculum.  Anchored on Outcomes-based Teaching and Learning (OBTL), the main culminating outcome of this course is for participant teachers to be able to develop a teaching resource material on a chosen unit lesson in the mathematics curriculum.  Further, this course addresses Domain 4 on Curriculum and Planning of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) which encompasses “teachers’ ability to translate curriculum content into learning activities that are relevant to learner, particularly in response to the on-going challenges of Remote Teaching and Learning (RTL) brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Upon completion of this course, the mathematics-teacher participants are able to develop a coherent teaching resource material in line with the learning standards and competencies of the chosen unit in the K to 12 secondary mathematics curriculum, and incorporating a range of flexible teaching-learning and assessment activities and resources that are responsive to the diverse needs and challenges  of  21st century learners.
